Dial 1500 from Djibouti, or issue a distress call on VHF channel 16. Stay calm and speak slowly.
Provide GPS coordinates if available, or describe landmarks visible from your vessel. WhatsApp allows you to send an exact position.
Maintain radio watch, keep your phone on and do not abandon your vessel while it remains afloat, unless in immediate danger.
